Clinical Compass is an educational and clinical decision support tool that is NOT HIPAA-compliant and is NOT intended for storing Protected Health Information (PHI). By using this platform, you agree to use only de-identified case data.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Clinical Compass ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform.

2. Intended Use

Clinical Compass is designed exclusively for:

  • Educational purposes: Training PMHNP students and primary care providers in psychiatric assessment and treatment
  • Clinical decision support: Providing evidence-based guidance for treatment algorithms and medication selection
  • Reference tool: Accessing medication databases, dosing calculators, and differential diagnosis guides

The Platform is NOT intended for:

  • Storing electronic health records (EHR)
  • Managing actual patient medical information
  • Replacing professional medical judgment or consultation
  • Diagnosing or treating specific individuals

3. Prohibition on Protected Health Information (PHI)

YOU MUST NOT enter any Protected Health Information (PHI) into the Platform, including but not limited to:

  • Patient names, initials, or nicknames
  • Dates of birth or specific ages that could identify individuals
  • Contact information (addresses, phone numbers, email addresses)
  • Medical record numbers or other unique identifiers
  • Social Security numbers
  • Any other information that could reasonably identify a specific individual

Use De-Identified Data Only: When creating case records, use generic case identifiers (e.g., "Case-001", "PT-A") and approximate ages only.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of the Platform, you agree to:

  • Use the Platform solely for educational and clinical decision support purposes
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Ensure all data entered is de-identified and contains no PHI
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards
  • Not share, sell, or distribute content from the Platform without authorization
  • Report any security vulnerabilities or data breaches immediately

5. Medical Disclaimer

The Platform does not provide medical advice. All content, including medication information, treatment algorithms, and clinical guidelines, is for educational and informational purposes only.

Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals before making any clinical decisions. The Platform is not a substitute for professional medical judgment, diagnosis, or treatment.

In case of medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately.

6. Data Storage and Retention

What We Store:

  • User account information (name, email, login method)
  • De-identified case data (case IDs, ages, clinical notes)
  • Treatment plans, assessments, and follow-up records (de-identified)
  • Usage analytics and system logs

Data Retention: De-identified case data is retained indefinitely unless you manually delete it. User account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days.

Data Deletion: You may delete individual case records or your entire account at any time through the Platform interface. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

7. Subscription and Payment

Trial Period: New users receive a 10-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required. After the trial period, you may choose to subscribe or continue with limited access.

Subscription Plans:

  • ADHD Clinical Compass: $10/month - Full access to ADHD-specific clinical decision support tools, medication database, treatment algorithms, and educational resources
  • Bipolar Clinical Compass: $10/month - Full access to Bipolar Disorder-specific clinical decision support tools, medication database, treatment algorithms, and educational resources
  • Bundle (Both Platforms): $15/month - Access to both ADHD and Bipolar Clinical Compass platforms at a discounted rate

Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis. You will be charged on the same day each month.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, medication databases, treatment algorithms, and software, is the property of Clinical Compass or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from Platform content without express written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLINICAL COMPASS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Platform
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
  • Any clinical decisions made based on Platform content
  • Any errors or omissions in Platform content

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Clinical Compass and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your violation of these Terms of Use
  • Your entry of PHI or other prohibited information into the Platform
  • Your clinical decisions or professional conduct
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

BY USING CLINICAL COMPASS, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF USE. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE PLATFORM IS NOT HIPAA-COMPLIANT AND MUST NOT BE USED TO STORE PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION.
